Help Manar and her newborn survive
London, England, United Kingdom
Manar, a 27-year-old mother and passionate Arabic language teacher at SOS Children’s Village, has always dreamed of a peaceful life. Her journey has been fraught with challenges, including a blood clotting condition that made it difficult for her to conceive. After four years of marriage and years of struggle, she and her husband were overjoyed to be expecting their first child.
However, everything changed on October 7, 2023, when war erupted in Gaza. This devastating day marked the start of Manar’s displacement. Amid the chaos, she lost a loved one, and fearing for her life and the safety of her unborn child, she fled from Rafah to Gaza City, and then to northern Gaza, only to find no refuge.
Manar gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Marseille, under these dire circumstances. Today, they are living in a tent in Khan Yunis, South Gaza, where they face extreme winter conditions, a severe lack of food and hygiene, and urgent medical needs. Manar’s situation has become even more critical, as she suffers from type 1 diabetes—a debilitating condition that requires her to take insulin regularly, adding to her financial burdens. Additionally, she is grappling with diabetic retinopathy, a complication that threatens her vision.
To make matters worse, Manar sustained a serious pelvic injury from a fall at the start of the conflict. A doctor has confirmed that she urgently needs surgery to repair the damage which will cost around $10000. (Doctor’s diagnosis attached below)
Manar and her baby are struggling to survive in the harshest of conditions, without access to proper shelter, food, or healthcare. Your support can help provide them with the essentials they need to survive and offer hope for a better future. Please consider donating to help Manar and her daughter during this unimaginable crisis. How Your Donations Will Help:
